1) Download FalkoCam Desktop (Windows)

• Download FalkoCam Desktop from the official website.
• Install and launch the app.

2) Compatibility check (works even without a license)

• Free feature Use Check camera compatibility to test your camera first.
• The supported models list is updated continuously. Many cameras can work even if they are not yet officially tested.

3) License activation

• Choose a subscription plan on the FalkoCam website.
• You receive a license key via email.
• Enter the license key inside FalkoCam Desktop to unlock streaming features.

4) License is tied to the user (not the camera)

• Your license is linked to you and your plan’s number of video streams — not to a specific camera.
• You can replace or upgrade your camera at any time (broken camera, new model, better quality, etc.).
• If your plan includes 1 stream, you can use that stream with different cameras over time (one at a time).

5) Discover and connect your camera (secure)

• Connect the camera to the same network as the computer running FalkoCam.
• Click Discover Camera and select your camera.
• Enter the camera credentials (username/password) for security and privacy.

6) Set your streaming profile (based on your connection)

• Rule Your selected bitrate (Mbps) must match your available upload speed (Mbps).
• If you stream at 6 Mbps, you need at least 6 Mbps stable upload (preferably more).
• Use the website’s Streaming Guide for quick presets, data usage estimates, and recommended upload ranges.

7) Connect YouTube (one-time)

• Sign in with Google inside FalkoCam.
• If you have multiple channels, select the channel you want to use.
• Preview controls: Play / Stop (preview only).
• Live control: Go Live sends the stream to YouTube.

8) Optional: add an overlay (if included in your plan)

• Upload a PNG/JPG overlay, position it, and apply it to your livestream.

9) Go Live on YouTube

• Press Go Live and FalkoCam starts your YouTube livestream.
• After you’re live, you can control the stream with Pause and Stop.

Important note

1) Stable upload is everything

• Goal Stable upload (not only “fast”), low jitter and minimal packet loss.
• Use a reliable camera: very cheap models may freeze or drop frames.
• FalkoCam includes smart buffering + live monitoring to help with small fluctuations, but it can’t fix a very unstable line.

2) Wi-Fi vs Ethernet / PoE

• 24/7 tip Wi-Fi is not recommended for continuous 24/7 streaming (more likely to drop).
• For always-on use, choose PoE (Power over Ethernet) or at least a wired Ethernet connection.

3) Bitrate and upload speed must match (same unit)

• Bitrate is how much data you send to YouTube every second, measured in Mbps.
• Your upload speed is also measured in Mbps.
• Rule If you stream at 6 Mbps bitrate, you need at least 6 Mbps stable upload (preferably more).
• Safe guideline: keep available upload at least 1.5× your selected bitrate.
